This knock out girl was advertised as “an image of paradise on earth” by Neil Josselyn in the FLA World Championship Show and Sale. I couldn’t believe it when the auctioneer’s hammer went down I was the new owner of this beautiful llama. Shangri-La is the most favorite llama at Dover 3 East. She is very tall and really stretches out to give the appearance of a very regale animal. She has the most perfect ears and face and to add to this she has a single fleece of yellow golden fiber that accents the most perfect frame. After seeing a recent picture of Shangri-La, Heather Bamford said …wow she has kept her special look. She is very easy to find in the herd of females because her ears stick out above all the other heads in the pasture. She has given birth to a very special appy female, The Thrill of Hope and a very nice male, Red Cyrus and this last fall she gave birth to the very first suri born on the farm, who I named Donatello and at the rate he is going he is going be one special llama around here.

I am so proud to have this terrific girl in my procession. Michael and Linda Pierce consigned Marjelais to the 2004 Celebrity sale in Oklahoma City. I think luck definitely was with me when I realized after the bidding was done that she belonged to me. Linda told me that she was named after a French wine called Marjelais. A very classy person named this very classy llama with a very classy name. Although her name starts with an M she is a descendent of the famous E-line. Her pedigree is just awesome with names like Peruvian El Gris, SRR Persnickity, Crazy Mountain Man and The Canadian and of course the best E-line female ever Eskadra and the string of E-line names before her. Marjelais has earned her ROM and is very close to her halter championship. Her sire Hard Rock’s Gaston owned by Danny Keller is the 2004 ALSA National Grand Champion Heavy Wool Adult Male. The late Peruvian El Gris is probably one of the best producing male llamas that was ever imported from Peru. The Hard Rock Llama Company has had great success with him over the years. Any one that owns an El Gris offspring has a gem in their procession. Marjelais is not only a beautiful llama she has the best personality a llama could ever have. She greets every visitor with a kiss and she will let anyone pet her for as long as they are willing. She will let little kids crawl over her while she is lying in the pasture. She is a very soft gray brown color with highlights of caramel and very dark brown accents. She has bangs and fringes on her ears that don’t stop. She has very fine fiber that has spiral locks that drape over her body. It’s a joy to watch her move, because she just floats with her wool swaying with her body. She moves like a very elegant young girl in her prom dress. She is bred to E.L. Red Alert and will have her first cria this spring. I have high hopes for some dynamite offspring from this girl in the years to come. She will only be bred to very special sires.

D3E The Thrill
of Hope
DOB: 5-24-2004   Sire: E.L. Red Alert (G.L.L. Dorado x LW Mauna Lani)
  ILR# 201829   Dam: East Fork Shangri-La (Riny's King Crimson x Layla)

Hope was one of E.L. Red Alerts first crias to hit the ground and I was so hoping for a nice female out of this breeding and it was a big thrill to see this appy baby hit the ground just as the sun was coming up early in the morning. I remember saying I sure hope she really is as good as she looks, hence the name The Thrill of Hope. As it turns out this girl is my pride and joy. She has done very well in the show ring; I wish I could have shown her a little more before putting her in the production ring. I am excited about what this girl is going to do for my breeding program. She will be bred this spring to some special male. Update....Hope was bred to Susan Kovacs tall and stretchy FVL Brewster. I am anxious to see what this cria is going to look like, the combination of these two blood lines should be awesome. This cria should be showing up in the pasture around the first of May.

Opportunity's Samantha
DOB: 9-29-98   Sire: Opportunity's Monark
  ILR# 201829   Dam: Ms. Kachina

Samantha was recently purchased from Nancy Frank of Opportunity’s Llamas. A few years ago when I purchased Opportunity’s Monique I told Nancy that I was really impressed with Monique’s size and presence. Nancy told me if I like large llamas I should see Samantha, one of her females that was back home on the ranch. This summer Nancy decided to put Samantha on the for sale list. Remembering that I liked Monique so much Nancy called and gave me the first chance at purchasing Samantha. The first time I saw Samantha I was very impressed not only with her size, but also with the elegance that she presented. She would probably be classified as medium wool in the ALSA classes. Her fiber is a very fine silk with some lock structure that gives her a very attractive appearance. Samantha has the fiber that is easy to maintain, it just naturally stays clean and free of debris. Samantha has produced two female offspring, which inherited the elegance of their mother. Opportunity’s Serrenity Angel is a wild type in color now owed by Dana Lafontsee. Serrenity is a large and beautiful female and once you seen her, you won’t forget her. The other daughter is black and white paint, Opportunity’s Angelica that is owned and shown by Kara Leake. Angelica has proven herself as a grand champion in the ALSA show ring. I am very excited to see what Samantha’s next offspring will be. It is easy to find Samantha in the herd of females; she is a least a head taller that any of the other girls….well Shangri-La is very close to being that tall also. Watch for great things to come from Samantha.

Not Two Blue
DOB: 1-10-96   Sire: White Heat
ILR# 15748   Dam: Not So Loud

Not Two Blue a.k.a. Ariel came to Dover 3 East Llamas early in the summer of 2005. Ariel caught my eye right away when I visited Diane and Jim Wojtech of Collorama Llamas in Marion Wisconsin. This black and white paint has impeccable conformation. She has the most perfect front legs and looks pretty darn good on the back end also. On top of that she has presence that doesn’t stop. She knows she is a queen and wants everyone around her to know it. Every little knoll in the pasture belongs to her. I am very pleased to have this remarkable White Heat daughter in my herd of females. She might be considered medium wool as far as classification goes and has some characteristics of the Northern American type of llamas, like size for an example. She has produced some amazing offspring with beautiful fiber for the Wojtechs. Her latest daughter, Collorama’s Rigel Hummingbird sold in the Celebrity sale in Oklahoma City in 2005. This girl was covered with locked silky fiber. It would be interesting to see what Ariel could produce when bred to a suri male. This tall stretchy girl has a very pleasant personality and is a joy to have around. I anticipate great things will come from Ariel in the near future.

GHLC Lola
DOB: 5-24-2002   Sire: Aspen Hills Magnetar
  ILR# 248715   Dam: Jazzy's Chloe

Lola is from Susan Kovac’s herd of large, stretchy, elegant llamas. Lola’s dam, Chloe is a large, beautiful black with a white tuxedo, which is pretty much the same color and markings her daughter Lola acquired. The sire of this young female is a son of the famous RAR Chilean Magnet, which is Aspen Hill’s Magnetar. This line has some very strong genetics that are usually very impressive. I am pleased to have this Magnet granddaughter in my herd of females. Lola is definitely going to take after her mother in that she is going to be tall and elegant. She has great wool coverage and has the bangs over her face and fringes on the ears to give he a very attractive head set. It won’t be long and Lola will be silver, she already has the silver fibers showing up in her coat of wool. Lola has been growing and growing and I don’t think she is done yet. Visitors are always impressed with Lola and her majestic appearance. This young maiden is very easy to work with and fits in well with the rest of the herd. She definitely fits in as one of the keeper in my herd; she has the style, substance, and the stretch to fit my bill of requirements. I am expecting that she is going to be a producer of babies that are going to be knockouts. Lola is now bred to the super suri Savarati for a late summer cria.

 Martina RTC
DOB: 4-23-2000   Sire: RAR Richochet (Chilean Leroy Brown x Misty Chilean)
  ILR# 222172   Dam: Ponderosa's Miss Kitty (Chilean Top Priority x Via's April)
View Close Up>

Martina is one very good size female that comes with the stretch and balance. She fits perfect in my herd of females that are on the large side with stretch and presence. She definitely in on my top ten list. Especially after seeing the cria she had this past summer. This girl is a very attractive black and white paint that stands out in a group not only because of her color and marking but also because of her regal appearance. I purchased Martina from Randy Cipriano when she was just a yearling. At the time of purchase Randy said she was going to be a very good sized girl and she turned out to be exactly that. Martina is the curious one in the herd of females she will be one of the first at the gate to meet and greet any new person on the grounds. She has some of the well-known names in the industry in her pedigree. Names like Richochet, Leroy Brown, Top Flight and Lopez. Her first cria, is a beautiful male out of Aspen Hill’s Magnetism, named D3E Ivenhoe Blythe, you will see his picture on this site. He is for sale at this time. When he was born he weighted 33 pounds and gaining weight very fast. He was the largest cria in the weaning pen. Martina's second baby is a beautiful female named D3E Avita Madonna and her sire is E.L. Red Alert. She took after her brother in being very large. She has the special look and is going to be part of my show string this year. Martina is now bred to the super suri male Savarati with a baby due this late summer.

The best word to describe this young lady is stretch ….she has the long neck, legs and the right length of body to go with it. She has that natural “always on” presents going on. I am very excited the way this girl has developed and I don’t thing she is done growing. She is also a very easy going laid back girl, which is a very nice trait to have in the larger type of llama. This girl will be one that I will be hanging onto for awhile; I just can imagine what her crias will look like. The female is a product of Janice Lasee's breeding program....and Jan likes the look of tall, elegant and stretchy females.

Monique is a very big girl that carries herself very well. She has the bone and substance desired in a producing female. This very gentle easy going girl came from Nancy Frank’s Opportunity Llama herd. When Nancy chose this one to sell she picked out a gem of a girl. I am not sure if you would call her an appy or paint, she has big and small orange spots covering her white body. Whatever her markings, she stands out in the herd with all her color. I enjoy having her around not only because of her size and presence but for the easygoing personality she has. She is very pleasant not only with humans but with other llamas. Monique had a E.L. Red Alert cria in the spring of 2005. This cria turned out to be a very colorful and flashy boy with a super personality named D3E Jefferson. Monique is now bred to FVL Limelight for a early fall baby.

I am very lucky to have this young lady in my herd. Justin Timm purchased this fine lady from the Richard Patterson herd in a special package of 10 llamas. Justin decided to put a very nice female in the Hartman sale a couple years ago. That is how I was able to become the proud owner of this very exquisite llama. Ruby is all white with a reddish patch on each side her face, hence the name Ruby Cheeks. She has a knock out appearance especially her face and ears. She has that little bit of a flash that catches your eye as you are glancing over the herd of females in the pasture. Rudy's first cria was a male out of E.L. Red Alert born on the forth of July. His name is D3E Red Firecracker. He is one very attractive llama in all aspects. The presence he was born with came from both his mother and father. He was born with very silky fiber that has excellent drape and luster. Firecracker has done very well is the show ring over that last few years. This mating was such a good match that I decided to breed Ruby back to E.L. Red Alert for a second chance at this combination of excellent genes. Ruby had another boy which I name D3E Sturgis and he turned out to be just as good as his brother if not better. I had a good time showing him in 2006 and will be showing him again this year. Ruby is now bred to my Argentine cross male, Stobie's Atrax who has super heavy wool that is very fine to the point of being silky, like most Argentines he has the substance, bone and great personality. Ruby is due with what should be a very promising showstopper this summer.

I purchased this beautiful black and gray appy/paint at a small exotic animal sale in Iowa when she was very young. I usually don’t like to purchase very young llamas, but I could tell she was really going to be something to look at when she got older. She turned out to be a beautiful addition to my herd of female llamas. She comes from a strong line of appy marked llamas with wild markings on her paternal side. She comes not only with great substance and conformation but the bonus of great color. Tiara did very well in the show ring as a yearling and a two-year-old. This girl is an easy keeper in that she is very easy to work with. Not only does she have beauty but she come with a great personality. The very colorful fiber that she adorns herself with is very fine and silky with high luster. She is currently bred t E.L. Red Alert for an early summer baby. I am predicting that there will be some interesting colors coming out of this combination which will all be a bonus to what the conformation, size, substance and presence will be. Watch for some dynamite offspring from this female in the years to come.

This girl is the first llama that everyone notices right away and ask "where did she come from". I purchased her from the Skansens at Hartman’s Futurity. When she came up on stage I think my eyes must have popped out of my head, I thought she really was something. Trogen has the natural appearance that makes her stand out in any group of llamas. Her fiber is very fine and drapes over her entire body. The coverage is the best I have seen on any female llama. She is black with a white face and the markings on her face give her a very striking appearance. The conformation on this animal is superb and her movement is so smooth her fiber appears to be floating through the air. She has produced some very attractive offspring from what I can see in the photos. Trogen had a very nice wild color type male out of E.L.Red Alert for me. There was no lack of conformation, presence and wool coverage on D3E Hedgestone Oaks. Not a big surprise since both parents excel in these characteristics. Trogen is very close to the top of the list of my keepers. Watch for her crias in the show ring.

This very large and elegant girl was purchased at Celebrity in 2002. She was there as a consignment of Pat and Dennis Abreu from Spring Creek Ranch, Mt. Shasta California. When she was walked out onto the stage she looked so regale and majestic. Haute’ Soufflé’ is a daughter of the “Lion” the well known herdsire that is an import from Bolivia. He is known for the producing offspring with excellent wool coverage with a very fine micro count. Haute’ Soufflé’ Dam and Sire are producers of many ALSA grand champions. They have produced the winningest female llama ever in North America and that was Haute’ Soufflé’ full sister SCR Maybelline. Haute’ Soufflé’ is nearly a clone of her sister and has won a number of grand champions herself. She awed the judges when she walked into the show ring. She is a deep red mahogany color and with the dark accents gives her a very rich color. Haute’ Soufflé is very personable and likes to be hugged and petted. She has presence plus and carriers herself very well. She is bred to E.L. Red Alert for a June cria. This should be one awesome baby with size, conformation and presence. Keep your eyes open for this cria in the show ring.

Timber Bear was entered in the 2002 Celebrity by Jay and Gay Byers. This was the sale that featured the Feather & Friends Farm Silk & Suri Sale and the buzz was all about those animals. Timber Bear was a sleeper in that crowd. There was definitely a lot more llama they’re than what she was given credit for. Timber Bear turned out to be very profitable female in the show ring and in production. I am very grateful that the Byers brought her to the sale because she turned out to be one of my top females. She is good size and has very good conformation. She also has fiber that is very fine and drapes from her solid frame. She has the fringes that make her very attractive in the pasture and the show ring. This last spring she gave birth to an E.L. Red Alert baby that is turning out to be an excellent animal with the best characteristics of both parents. This young female, Candy Bear is going to be one to contend with this next show season. Just like her mother she is a big sweet teddy bear. Timber Bear is bred to Stobie’s Equity for a June baby in 2005. Her first cria turned out to be great in size this one should be even bigger since Equity is a giant himself.

Hannah stands about a foot taller than most the llamas in the pasture. I recently purchased this girl from Susan at the Grand Harvest Llama Company and I am excited to get her into my breeding program. I am very fond of her presence, size the majestic look she has going.  I like the length of her neck and legs and I hope to see that in her crias. She was exposed to WLK Moonwalker late this fall and with fingers crossed I am hoping to see an awesome baby when the leaves start to fall.

This maiden female has impeccable conformation and a perfect top line. She has good size and dense bone. I am looking forward to getting some very nice babies out of this young girl. She inherited some of the silver color from her sire Equity. The first time I saw the Pine Bluff’s herd I picked their female, Ice Floe as being one of their nicest females in the herd. I like what I saw in their Herdsire Equity and I liked Ice Floe so it’s not awonder that I liked what I saw in the white and silver cria they produced. After purchasing Ida Mae Foehn from Pine Bluff’s ranch I became interested in Equity as a herdsire not only did he have the size I like, he was producing offspring that were turning out to be very appealing. The more I looked at Ida Mae the more interested I became in Equity as a herdsire. Spectrum Ranch in Monico Wisconsin and I went in together and purchased this outstanding male llama. Ida Mae will be bred to E.L. Red Alert this spring for a 2006 cria.

Kelli is the very first llama that I purchased. I actually bought three llamas the day I purchased Kelli, but she was the first one I bid on so technically she is my first. She certainly turned out to be the best of the three. She was the beginning of a big change in my life. I divide my life into life before Kelli and life after Kelli, I think that was sometime in September of 2000. It didn’t take long to expand my herd of three to a herd of 40+ llamas. Nothing has been the same ever since. Kelli is a very affectionate lady and is easy to work with a characteristic she passes on to her offspring. She is very nice butterscotch color that is very attractive. This producer has had two very nice female crias for me and is carrying another baby. Both her babies have excellent conformation and coverage. Last year Glow Angel (cria in the picture) was part of my show string and this year her 2004 cria, Acorn Promise is going to be part of the show string. Kelli is bred to Avalancher for a baby in June of 2005. Watch the web site for pictures of what should be a very nice cria with silky fiber. Kelli is establishing herself as a foundation female in the herd with the good conformation and presence that she passes on to her offspring.

Anne is a very tall and stretchy blonde girl. She has very good conformation and a great top line. She has the elegant look and has the presence to go with it. She has medium wool length and is very dense. She is very quiet and is hardly noticed as she glides around the pasture. She is very easy going around the other llamas. Anne had her first cria this past year. He turned out to have a lot of color from his father, Red Alert. He was named Red Jester because of red color and playful personality. Anne is a very good producer in that she has plenty milk and is a very good mother to her baby. Anne is currently bred to Avalancher for a summer baby.
